Constructing the Future: Unlocking Global Opportunities with a New Startup

Our client is a global leader in the construction materials industry, operating in more than 70 countries and employing over 80,000 people with annual revenues of over $20 billion USD.
WHAT
The construction industry is one of the last to embrace digital technologies to automate processes, increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve customer experience. Our client recognized the need to incorporate digital technologies into their operations to improve the quality of their services, increase their productivity and reduce their environmental footprint. The initial scope was 2 team buildouts for very different start-up divisions of the organization. The first phase for each division included 6 key roles, within different functional areas of the respective divisions, as well as geographic locations.
OPPORTUNITY
We were thrilled to be chosen to build out these two innovation teams. Although both were formed to address digital transformation, one was focused on product ordering and delivery, while the other was introducing an all-in-one software management system for field teams. Our expertise in technology, start-ups, time-tested search processes, and fast delivery of results earned us the client’s trust. Our goal was to provide the human capital who would revolutionize the construction industry by introducing a more connected and efficient future. Initially, there were very few people at the startup, but we were determined to form the building blocks.

OUTCOME
Our team was initially tasked with finding experienced individuals to build both the field and in-house customer success teams to support a large-scale technical transformation and customer relations for our client. We conducted a rigorous search across multiple markets to identify individuals with a background in digital transformation in the construction or related industries, while also ensuring a great cultural fit. This led us to find two Digital Customer Success Managers for the field and a Director of Customer Success for the company headquarters. We then identified a Senior Business Analyst and two Project Managers to complete the initial start-up team, all of whom remain at the organization today and are highly respected.
Our partnership with the client has been an outstanding success, with their new technology-focused initiative gaining traction across the industry. Our deep knowledge of the tech market and our proven search process allowed us to help our client build an innovative construction technology startup that now has formed an additional division. Across both teams, we have identified 11 individuals altogether and look forward to our ongoing partnership.
